Chardham Yatra is a spiritual journey that takes through four holy abodes of the almighty snuggled in many different yet surreal regions of Uttarakhand. Millions of pilgrims every year walk this sacred journey with the wishful thinking of finding spiritual peace and maybe, salvation too. Some come with the intent of losing themselves in the picturesque beauty of the Himalayas and to celebrate peace while enjoying the spiritual aura at these places.
The journey starts with a Darshan at Yamunotri where pilgrims worship the holy statue of Goddess Yamuna then, they move to the next spiritual abode of Goddess Ganga where it is presumed that Goddess Ganga touched the Earth for the first time and they also cleanse themselves from the past sins by taking a holy dip in the River Ganges. Next, will be a journey to the holy abode of Lord Shiva and here, you can join yourself in the celebration of life. And lastly, the holy temple of Lord Vishnu in Badrinath where you worship for a healthy and prosperous life.

Day 1: Haridwar – Camping at Barkot
Upon your arrival at Haridwar Railway Station or Bus Stand, you will be greeted by our tour representative with quick refreshments and later, you will drive for Barkot where you will spend your first overnight stay.
En-route to Barkot, you will enjoy a short halt at Mussoorie and enjoy a lunch at Kempty Fall which is one of the most popular places in Mussoorie. Enjoy the beautiful stream of water falling from high up in the mountains.
Then, you will resume your journey towards Barkot where you will enjoy camping with the view of many famous mountain peaks.
Day 2 : Barkot – Yamunotri – stay at Barkot
This morning, when you will finish your breakfast then, you will enjoy a drive to Janki Chatti which is a base point for Yamunotri trek and will enjoy some mesmerizing views during this journey.
On reaching Janki Chatti, you will be provided with your entry passes and then you can either get a pony for the trekking journey or you can just walk 6 km of distance to Yamunotri Temple. You can take many breaks along the journey and can also enjoy a hot cup of tea during that time.
On reaching Yamunotri, you will then have a Darshan of Goddess Yamuna and can also ask for her healthy blessings. Then, after some time, you will walk back down to Janki Chatti and from there, you will be escorted back to your tents in Barkot where you will enjoy one more night under the clear sky.
Day 3 :Barkot – Stay at Uttarkashi
After having breakfast, you will leave for Uttarkashi which is about 90 km away from Barkot. Uttarkashi is the nearest town to Gangotri.
On reaching Uttarkashi, you will have to go through some check-in formalities and then, the rest of the day is at your disposal. And if you would like to explore this beautiful town then, you can enjoy walking on those winding lanes of the mountain.
Day 4 :Uttarkashi – Darshan in Gangotri – Stay at Uttarkashi
After an early morning breakfast where you will enjoy some of the Pahari delicacies, you will drive to Gangotri where you can worship the statue of Goddess Ganga.
On reaching Gangotri, first, you can take a holy dip in the river Ganges which is believed to free people from their past sins and then, you can join the queue to have Darshan of Goddess Ganga inside the temple.
Later, you will proceed back to your hotel room in Uttarkashi where you will spend another overnight stay.
Day 5Uttarkashi – stay in Guptkashi
This morning, you will first enjoy a breakfast meal and afterwards, you will check-out of your hotel room. You will then proceed towards Guptkashi which is a small-town near Kedarnath.
The journey will be longer than the last two days as Guptkashi is about 220 km away from Uttarkashi but, you will enjoy many surreal sites during this journey. The lush green beauty of the Himalayas will surely make you fall for them and the River Ganga rowing down beside your vehicle will also give you a natural glimpse of how mountains work magically.
On reaching Guptkashi, you will check-in to your hotel room and enjoy your overnight stay.
Day 6 :Guptkashi – Darshan of Lord Shiva at Kedarnath
After having early morning breakfast, if you have chosen to trek to Kedarnath then, you will drive to Gauri Kund which is about 30 km away from here and is the last motorable point. On reaching Gauri Kund, you can either take a holy dip in the hot water spring at this place. Later, you will trek about 19 km to Kedarnath and the journey alone would connect you deeply with the spiritual mountains of this place.
And if you have booked a helicopter, then you will dropped at the helipad from where you will hop on a helicopter which will leave you at the temple gates for Darshan.
On reaching Kedarnath Gate either by the helicopter or by a walk, you will be allotted your tents where you can relax till your Darshan time. Mostly, 4’o clock is the time arranged for Darshan because of avoiding a long queue and worshipping the statue of Lord Shiva comfortably.
After Darshan, you can return to your tents for sleep till the next morning.
Day 7 :Kedarnath – stay at Uttarkashi
Somewhere around 9 in the morning, you will resume your journey back to Guptkashi. Those who trekked up to this place will walk down to Gauri Kund where you will meet the tour representative who will drive you to your hotel room in Guptkashi.
And those who came via helicopter, they will wait for their turn and will meet the tour representative at the helipad in Phata. From there you will be taken back to your hotel room where you will enjoy your overnight stay.
Day 8 :Uttarkashi – Darshan of Badrinath
In the morning, you will proceed towards Badrinath which is your last Chardham temple. Today, you will have to cover about 215 km of distance so, you will be spending much time on the roads. On reaching Badrinath, first, you will check-in to your hotel room and then, have a quick refreshment.
Later, you will line up in a short queue for the Darshan of Lord Vishnu inside the premise of Badrinath temple. You can also take a holy dip in the Tapt Kund by the temple in an attempt to spiritualize your soul.
Afterwards, you will walk back to your hotel room and enjoy your stay.
Day 9 :Badrinath – stay in Rudraprayag
In the morning, when you will have your breakfast and nearly, finish the check-out time. Then, you will drive to Rudraprayag where you will enjoy your overnight stay.
Rudraprayag is located at the confluence of three major rivers and you can also see the three-river mixing together. So, after checking-in to your hotel room, you can explore this beautiful town.
After satisfying Darshan, you will head back to your hotel room and enjoy your overnight stay.
Day 10 :Rudraprayag – short excursion in Rishikesh – Haridwar
After having breakfast, you will drive to Rishikesh which is another holy town in Uttarakhand. On reaching Rishikesh, first, you will enjoy a short excursion and will visit places like Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, etc.
After this short excursion, you will drive to Haridwar from where this spiritual journey started. On reaching Haridwar, the tour representative will say his goodbyes and leave you either at the Railway station or Bus Stand.
